Procedure Reminders
- Be Safe
- Wear P.E. shoes. Sneakers are the best choice for play. Shoes must have a rubber bottom, closed toes, cover the whole foot, and stay on the foot while running, jumping and playing.
- Keep good personal space. Students need to be in good personal space, with their hands to themselves during activity in P.E.
- Play standing up only. Students need to stay standing while learning in class. If students dance, sit, slide, or roll on the ground with out prompting, they risk being injured or injuring another student. Sliding across the floor is unsafe.
2. Be Kind
- Students are expected to follow school wide conduct rules and demonstrate responsible behaviors including treating their classmates and teacher with kindness.
3. Be Respectful
- Students need to treat classmates, teacher, lesson activities, and equipment with respect.
- There are many different units in P.E. aligned with CCPS curriculum and policy, students are expected to participate fully in every unit unless medically excused.
- Students are expected to be respectful of equipment and use equipment only in the way its use is demonstrated.
4. Be a Bobcat
- Students will adhere to the school-wide expectations of following the four core values of respect, responsibility, honesty, and accountability.
- Students are expected to give their best effort to demonstrate their success.
Procedure Reminders
- Students must be wearing appropriate clothing and footwear to participate in P.E.
- It is CCPS policy to attain a written doctor's note if a student needs to be excused from physical activity in P.E. If applicable, please turn in this note to your child's classroom teacher ASAP.
- Students in 4th and 5th grade participate in Virginia FitnessGRAM testing no less than bi-annually in the assessments of PACER, push-ups, curl-ups, V-Sit & reach, shoulder stretch, and/or trunk lift.
